| Jasrotia biradari members stage protest against Forest Deptt, minister | | |  Early Times Report
Kathua, Feb 11: Raising slogans against Forest Department and Forest Minister today members of Jasrotia Biradari today raised serious allegations against them for destruction of protected monument and non compliance of orders issued by high court.
Elected members of Jasrotia birahari while addressing media persons during a protest at Jasrota Fort alleged that the this fort was declared as protected monument in the year 1995 and the forest department has started up-gradation of Raja Talab in Jasrota wildlife sanctuary.
They further said that the members of Jasrotia biradhari approached the high court and during hearing on 2nd Febrauary, the court in its interim order stayed the construction activity within 100 meters of the protected area of the ancient monument at Jasrota Fort till next date which is 12th March of 2018.
"As the High Court in its order stayed the construction activity within 100 meters of the protected area of the ancient monument at Jasrota Fort on 2nd February but the Forest ministered inaugurated the construction work on 4th February", said Thakur Kuldeep Singh.
Protestors further said that if the construction work would not be stopped they would block the national highway as mark of forest against the Forest Department and Forest Minister. |
