80 school buildings completed under project "Tameer"

Rajouri, Feb 13: Within eight months of project 'Tameer to provide buildings to 163 government schools where children study in the open, District administration Rajouri has completed 80 school buildings and remaining 20 will be completed within next few days.
In the month of June in a meeting of the district officers, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhry was informed that 163 government schools don't have the buildings and students were getting affected. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Dr, Shahid Iqbal Choudhry and was attended by ACD, SDMs of Kotranka, Thanamndi, Nowshera, Kalakot, Sunderbani, concerned BDOs, AEEs etc. Under the supervision of Dr Shahid Iqbal , DDC it was decided to initiated a project 'Tameer" under which all the 163 schools will be provided buildings. It was also decided that in the first stage construction work will be taken up for 100 buildings where the enrolment of the students was 20 or more. These schools include 40 located in Rajouri constituency, 40 in Darhal constituency, 14 in Kalakote constituency and 6 in Nowshera constituency. District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) was also constitute on this occasion for weekly monitoring of the construction works.
"In an attempt to provide enabling atmosphere for education in remote and hilly areas 100 schools will constructed under convergence of various schemes of different departments" said Dr Shahid Iqbal after the meeting.
