Early Times Report

JAMMU, Feb 13: An Army Major, who was injured in Saturday's terror attack at the Sunjuwan Army camp in Jammu, has once again shown fighting the enemy is the first thing on a soldier's mind wherever they are and in whatever situation they may find themselves in.
Major Avijit had sustained injuries in the Sunjuwan terror attack and had been recovering in the Army Hospital at Udhampur ever since.

On Tuesday after recovering for the preceding four days, Major Avijit spoke to the media. National news agency quoted him as saying, "I am feeling much better now. I can interact with doctors. I was able to sit and walked twice today. I was not aware what has been happening in the last 3-4 days.
According to Major General Nadeep Naithani, Commandant of the Command Hospital (MH) Udhampur, the morale of the Major is very high despite being injured in the attack. He said the first thing Major Avijit asked after undergoing surgery was the status of the encounter and terrorists.
"Soon after the surgery, he asked about what happened to the terrorists. He is raring to go. His condition is good," Major Gen Naithani said.
Initially, a total of six soldiers and a civilian, apart from the three terrorists, were killed in the attack on the military station at Sunjuwan in Jammu. The body of the sixth soldier was recovered last night from the encounter site inside the military camp. Later, a body of an Army jawan was recovered during the clearance operation on Monday night, Jammu-based Army Public Relation Officer Lt Col Devender Anand told.
A group of heavily-armed men had struck the sprawling camp of the 36 brigade of the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry before the dawn on February 10, killing six people including five soldiers.
Five Army personnel, hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, and the father of one of the martyred soldiers, were killed and 10 others, including two officers and six women and children, were injured in the incident.
The bodies of the three terrorists of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit were also recovered along with huge cache of arms and ammunition during the search operation.
