JAMMU, Feb 13: In an act of sheer harassment with a Jammu based class-IV employee, the administration of one department in Kashmir valley has withheld his salary of six months of 2016, when the Valley was on fire. Surprisingly for the same time period, all government departments have released salaries of all the employees belonging to Kashmir region.
Rahul Sambyal a class- IV employee who was working in the Department of Fisheries has been denied the salaries of six months of turmoil in the valley following killing of militant Burhan Bani in July 2016.
"During the Kashmir turmoil, I was stuck in Jammu when I was on legitimate leave to attend the death anniversary of my mother and just after the turmoil calmed down, I again joined the office but after lapse of more than one year, I am running from pillar to post to get my salary but which has been withheld by the department", said Rahul. "Chief Minister had announced that the salaries of the turmoil period wouldn't be deducted but the officials of Fisheries department have withheld my salary, on which my entire family depends" he added.
"The department concerned is repeatedly serving me the notice to explain the reasons of absence during the period of turmoil and denying me the salary", Rahul said, adding that he was being singled out and discriminated against.
