2/21/2018 10:09:34 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 21: In a Public Interest Litigation regarding better facilities in Govt Hospitals, a Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Chief Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed and Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, today observed that as per earlier directions affidavit has been filed but it is absolutely inadequate, inasmuch as, it does not answer the issues raised by us.
Division Bench directed to file detailed affidavit within three days.
Earlier, the Division Bench directed that the affidavit shall clearly indicate as to whether all the departments in the Government Medical College, Jammu have adequate Doctors with regard to each specialty. It shall also indicate, as to whether equipment necessary for each specialty are available and functioning. The same shall also be done for any other associate hospital and District Hospital within Jammu city the affidavit shall also indicate the number of ambulances, which are available in Jammu city, whether Government or private. This will include critical care ambulances, if at all. The affidavit shall also indicate, as to whether the medicines and the surgical supplies are available in the hospitals and the affidavit shall also indicate the number of admissions in the said hospitals as also the number of patients visiting the Out Patient Department (OPD)/ Emergency Wards in each of these hospitals on a day to day basis.
In the PIL it has been submitted that it is the fundamental duty of the State to provide health care facilities in J&K State confining particularly to Jammu Province and the State run hospitals having failed to provide adequate medical facilities and it is generally seen that when a patient brought to the Govt, hospitals they are treated like inhuman and mere entry into hospital makes it clear that all is not well as the patients as well as their attendants failed to inhale properly because of bad condition of hygiene and poisonous air pollution inside the hospitals.
