Jammu, Feb 21: To shield course coordinator, the administration of University of Jammu got reviewed recommendations of enquiry committee constituted to find fact over fine imposed by Examination Wing for delay in submission of R/R UGs courses in Directorate of Distance Education (DDE).
According to sources, the four member committee, held the course coordinator responsible for the fine. "The committee headed by Prof. Sandeep Tandon, Dr Sushil Sharma, Dr. Jaspal Singh and Member Secretary Sunil Sahi, had found Course Coordinator, B.A. 1st and 3rd semesters, for delaying in submission of R/S for under graduate courses being run", sources said and added that taking strong notice of the matter examination wing of the University imposed Rs 23 lakh as fine.
"Kindly refer to your letter No DDE/Adm/17/2458 dated 10/11/2017, regarding submission of R/R of undergraduate 1st and 3rd semester for the session 2017-18. In this connection, it is to intimate that you have submitted the late R/R without depositing late fee. You are therefore, requested to deposit the late fee Rs 23,00,900", copy of letter written to Director Distance Education. Sources said that the job of concerned course coordinator is to submit the R/R timely, but in the absence of accountability, the so called A+ Grade University suffers badly. "Rs 13,37,980 is the fine for 1stsemester, while Rs 9,62,920 for 3rd semester", they said.
Sources said that the administration got reviewed the recommendations, and the clerical staffs has been framed for shield the course coordinator. "The of committee member has dissented the reviewed recommendations", sources said and added that the not only this, the Member Secretary, Sunil Sahi has been posted as Assistant Registrar, Establishment for favouring the coordinator.
