PDP Minister blames China to hide 'failures' of his Govt
2/21/2018 11:21:56 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 21: A senior leader of ruling Peoples Democratic Party and Road and Buildings Minister seems to have realized that the "soft policy" of his government towards terrorists and separatists has pushed the Jammu and Kashmir towards the brink. He has made a very "intelligent effort" to divert the attention from the failures of his government by blaming China for the increasing terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Minister in an interview to a national daily said: "All the big attacks inside J&K or even outside during past more than three years are attributed to JeM, terror group led by Masood Azhar,"
"How can one not see that he (Masood Azhar) has been adopted by China? There are reports of some action taken against Hafiz Saeed. What about Masood Azhar? Even a lesser figure like Salahudin has been listed as a global terrorist in UN but the great wall of China has been erected around Azhar. China has been regularly vetoing attempts to designate him (Azhar) as a terrorist in United Nations. Such things don't happen without reason. Why only him? Why not others? Why didn't China block such moves in UN against other people? The China connection needs to be understood," he said.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "It seems the PDP has realized that situation in Jammu and Kashmir has gone out of hand and Pakistan has intensified the error activities in the state. The ruling party has understood that its failure to rein in terrorists and the Pak stooges present in Kashmir has revived the militancy in the Valley."
He said, "The decision of the government to give amnesty to early 9000 stone-pelters and being soft towards the armed terrorists have caused a big damage. Now people like the R&B Minister have gone into damage control mode and are trying to claim that China is supporting terrorism in J&K."
A Kashmir watcher said, "The PDP led government is trying to put a lid over its failures by talking about China's role in Kashmir."
He said, "It seems that someone needs to tell the PDP leaders that China is defending Masood Azhar to appease Pakistan as China knows it very well that it has to keep Pakistan under its control if it wants to dominate south Asia."
Referring to Minister's statement that talks should be held with Pakistan, the Kashmir watcher said, "Pakistan is killing our civilians and soldiers at the Line of Control and at International Border almost everyday and there is no role of China in it. So how can India talk to the country which is bleedings us day in and out."
An observer said, "PDP should stop hiding behind its failures and act tough against the terrorists and Pakistani stooges active in J&K rather than giving advises to the Government of India n its foreign policy."
