26 RR busts terror hideout in Kishtwar; massive cache of arms, ammunition recovered

Jammu, Feb 21: The army in Kishtwar District today achieved a major success by busting a terror hideout in Keshwan area of Kishtwar District and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition including Pakistan branded pistols. As per the details available with Early Times, the local people inform the army about the noticing some movement of outsiders in the area which lead to launch of operation in Upper reaches of Keshna Village of Keshwan some, 40 KM from Kishtwar town couple of days ago and after almost 48 hour long operation lead to busting of this terror hideout said to be belongs to Pakistan terror outfit Lashker e Toiba.
According to army sources, the hideout found deep inside a natural cave and after searching it the massive consignment of arms and ammunition was recovered which include Two AK 56 riffle, old currency note of Rs. 500, three Pakistan brand Pistols, Two Revolver, one RPG Round, two UBGL rounds, 15 magazines of AK-56 riffle, 756 AK Rounds, 98 Pika Round Belt, Two Radio Sets, Two wireless Sets, 12 Detonator, 9 Pencil Cells, One Pouch, Two Binoculars, One Torch, utensils, 250 Grams of Almonds, Kajju, Toffee one Packet, Two Blanket, three Pain Killer injections, Three stripes of Tablets, Kerosene Oil, R Oil, Pulses 1.5KG, Rice 03 KG, 200 grams of Salt Tea, 02 Packets of biscuits, One Tawa, Turmeric, Chilly, Salt, Kajal, Perfume, Fire pot, Kanchi, Mirror, Books, Shoes, Socks, Hand Glouse, Stove, Jai Nimaz (Cloth on which Nimaz was offered and others.
The sources said that among the arms ammunition recovered by the 26 RR, some ammunition is fresh which suggested that militants are trying to revive the militancy in the are and are planning to carry out the fresh terror attack in the area so as to destabilise the peace and tranquillity in the area.
Later the army handed over the recovered material to local police.
According to army sources, the recovered material has the potential to cause massive damage to human life and public property which was timely saved with the active cooperation of the local people who time provided the information to army.
It is pertinent to mention that the Keshwan area was once the hub of Lashker terror outfit till 2011 before top Lashker commander Habib Gujjar was eliminated by the army and police in August 2011.
