JKNPP seeks probe into selections by KVIB, Industries Deptt
2/23/2018 10:52:19 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 23: Alleging large scale irregularities and violation of norms and procedures in the highly irregular and whimsical appointment made in the Industries Deptt, the Panthers Party has sought a high level probe especially into the select list of EOs, Publicity officers and statistical Assistants released by the Khadi and village Industries Board, (KVIB). In a meeting of the party convened by the JKNPP under Chairmanship of Harsh Dev Singh and attended by Balwant Singh Mankotia State President and Yash Paul Kundal President Young Panthers to discuss the ever growing bias against Jammu youth in selections to govt jobs besides huge backdoor appointments made in various govt deptts, the issue of select list for various posts in KVIB published in today's newspapers figured prominently in the discussion. Harsh Dev Singh expressed his dismay that the state level gazetted and non gazetted posts which were required to be filled up by PSC and SSB were erroneously filed by KVIB by abandoning the precedents and established procedures only to manipulate the selection process. The Industries Deptt arbitrarily withdrew the posts from the said recruitment agencies and got the selections conducted through its pliant and tractable officers so as to accommodate their favourites. He said that the siblings of politicians and bureaucrats were selected in the process by dis-regarding merit, suitability and efficiency of eligible, meritorious candidates. Not only that, a novel mechanism was invented by the KVIB to conceal the identities of selected candidates by simply mentioning their roll numbers in the select list as published in newspapers rather than their names, parentage and residential particulars in circumvention of existing practice.
