2/23/2018 11:33:59 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 23: In the light of the arson case in Talab Tillo on Friday wherein a shop was fully gutted in the fire, SDPO West Jammu Pranav Mahajan along with in-charge police post Talab Tillo, SI Sumeet Sharma called for an important meeting with the shopkeepers of the Talab Tillo area to make them aware of the various do's and don'ts related to different aspects of safety and security. Various shopkeepers and the prominent citizens attended the meeting.
At the very start of the meeting Pranav Mahajan impressed upon the participants the importance of proper fire fighting systems. They were briefed about different types of fire extinguishers and related equipment.
In pursuance to the streamlining of the vehicular traffic, Pranav Mahajan emphasized the shopkeepers that they should refrain from encroaching the footpaths and the roads. They were asked not to allow wrong and haphazard parking outside their shops. He advised them to employ few men to manage the parking areas which was received well by the audience.
In the context of the thefts, the importance of the CCTVs was highlighted. He made aware the participants regarding different kinds of equipments that are available in the market. The shopkeepers were asked to employ watchmen in their residential as well as market areas. Proper police verification of these watchmen and other helpers should be done.
Discussing about the evil of the drug addiction, Pranav said that parents and society should be more aware, observant and responsive towards the activities and the deviant behaviour of their children. Any information in that regard should be shared with the police at the first instant rather than hiding so that the corrective measures can be taken at the right stage itself.
He assured the people of all possible help and cooperation from the police in every effort for making Talab Tillo a better place to live. The people appreciated and gave a positive feedback regarding the working of in-charge police post Talab Tillo, SI Sumit Sharma and his team.
