Pak army again commits 'napaak' act, restorrs to heavy fire on Indian posts

Rajouri, Mar 1: Pakistan army today resorted to heavy mortar shelling in the morning and in the evening in Balakot, Mendhar, Mankot (in Poonch district) and in Nowshera , Sunderbani areas in Rajouri district.
After 2003 truce agreement, first time a mortar shell exploded in Manawar Tawi river in Nowshera town just 300 metres away from PWD Dak Bunglow and the people of the town had narrow escape. Meanwhile, a villager namely 50 years retired subedar Suresh Kumar injured in Pakistani shelling and has been rescued to hospital at Nowshera. "He was first treated at Nowshera and due to his critical splinter injuries in the legs and back he was rescued to army hospital at Rajouri. Local administration has been keeping close watch on the prevailing situation on the LoC" said Abdul Sattar, SDM, Nowshera.
Meanwhile, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhry, DDC, Rajouri has termed the situation on the LoC as tense and worrisome and rescue teams are on job. He added Pakistan army has also resorted to heavy shelling in forward areas of Mangiote, Kalai, Minka in Sunderbani tehsil. All the concerned senior officers in border areas have been advised to remain in touch with the lamberdars/ former sarpanches to extend emergency help t border shelling victims on the ongoing incidents. With every passing day situation on the Line of Control (LoC) getting tense with exchange of heavy mortar shelling during skirmishes between both the armies in Rajouri and Poonch districts. In upper Gohlad village in Mankot sector in Poonch district two houses, belonging to Maqbool Hussain and Mohd Saqheer were fully damaged and both the families had narrow escape as they had shifted to safer places before the mortar shell had hit their houses.
