Holi celebrated with enthusiasm across Jammu

Jammu, Mar 1: The festival of colour-Holi was today celebrated in this winter capital of the state with enthusiasm and fervour.
People, especially youngsters, applied colour to each other and also splashed coloured water.
Kids purchased balloons and water canons to celebrate the festival.
Herbal colours remained first choice for people, while famous cartoon characters like Ben Ten and Chota Bheem-marked items were also on sale on Holi. People greeted each other by applying gulal and sharing sweets. Meanwhile, police had made special security arrangements and constituted teams to keep check on hooligans.
As the whole nation is celebrating the festival of colours and joys, Holi is celebrated at Poonch with great enthusiasm and show. People were seen throwing color on their friends and relatives. There were great glimpse of oneness among people as the people from all the sects of society celebrated the Holi without any religious barriers.
On the eve of Holi a shobha Yatra was organised by Sanathan Dharam Sabha Poonch which passes through the town and reached at ancient Radha Krishan Mandir where Pooja was performed. There were moments when the youth was seen playing holi with the senior officers of District Police Poonch and the officers welcomed their acts of celebrations. This gesture of SSP, Ad.SSP, DySP. HQ, Dy.SP DR and others added to the joys.
On the event senior members of Poonch Civil Society Taj Mir , Mohd Zaman and others also joined the holi celebrations.
People have congratulated all and prayed for the peace and the prosperity of the town.
The Border Security Force jawans on Thursday celebrated the festival of Holi in Jammu and Kashmir. BSF is the primary border guarding force of India and has been termed as the first line of defence of Indian territories. The officers and jawans of the para-military force work in tough and challenging conditions to keep the country safe. Neeraj Gupta, Zonal President of JKNPP along Party workers visited S.O.S. Home Channi Rama Jammu and celebrated the festival of colours Holi with the children of the Home. He distributed sweets among them and greeted them and gave them colours to play Holi. While speaking on the occasion he extends his best wishes to the children, Principle, Care Taker and other staff members of the home and also the people of Nation. Further he said that the this festival is a festival of colour and everyone should forget the differences and greet others with love and enthusiasm so that in every colour of Holi the colour of love and peace can be seen.
The festival of colours Holi was celebrated in Udhampur, like the whole of the state, even in Udhampur. The Main Function was organized by the Bapour Mandal udhampur . All the people of the town celebrated Holi, People of every caste and religion celebrated it. The main thing about this Holi was that the District Commissioner, Udhampur Ravinder Kumar as well as SSP Udhampur Rayees Mohd. Bhat , ASP udhampur went among the people to celebrate Holi and Dance on the Beats of drums and songs at Gole Market udhampur and gave message of Peace communal Harmony and Brother hood. Large number of Prominent Citizens of udhampur as well as common masses of udhampur present in large to celebrate Holi festibval in udhampur.
