| Fake gun license racket busted, 2 two held with fake licenses | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 3: With the arrest of two fraudsters and recovery of fake licenses from their possession, Gandhi Nagar police today claimed to have busted a fake gun license racket.
Police spokesman said that yesterday from reliable sources information was received at Gandhi Nagar police station that some persons are indulging in preparation of fake/forged gun licenses by using the stamps of Army officers/ civil administration thereby causing huge loss to the state exchequer and cheating the general public.
"Acting on this information a case under FIR No. 54/2018 under sections 419/420/467/468/471 of RPC has been registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and investigation was started", said police spokesman.
During course of investigation raids were conducted and two individuals namely Taranjeet Singh of Bhalla Enclave Channi Himmat Jammu and Satinder Singh Preet Nagar Digiana Jammu were arrested from Preet Nagar area and from their possession about 52 made gun licenses and hundreds of blank licenses/ forms were recovered from their possession, said spokesman.
Spokesman further said few stamps of Army/ Civil administration officers were also recovered. The investigation of the case is going and involvement of some other persons cannot be ruled out at this time.
The arrest and recovery has been made by Inspector, Sunil Singh Jasrotia, SHO Gandhi Nagar under the supervision of Rafiq Manhas, SDPO City South, Sandeep Choudhary, SP City South and Vivek Gupta, SSP Jammu. |
