PDP uncomfortable with BJP's CBI demand
3/4/2018 12:01:36 AM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 3: The PDP is getting increasingly uncomfortable with the BJP siding with protesters demanding CBI inquiry into the murder and rape case of Asifa in Kathua last month. The party has communicated to the BJP that politicising of the issue could damage the party in the Kashmir.
"The BJP is in governance and not in opposition and it should understand it. The party especially its ministers shouldn't be criticising the government which is quite unprecedented. And to top it all they are even threatening us. This can go against us in the Kashmir and we are not prepared for it," said the senior PDP minister
The sources said that PDP has been touch with the BJP senior leadership and also communicated to them that they should restrain themselves from jumping into the issue and should not be seen as siding with the protesters and in sense acting against the government.
"The BJP ministers threatening us sends the message especially in the valley that we are asked to succumb before the pressure tactics of the BJP and it could land us in soup and it will land us in difficult position and this the BJP must understand," said the PDP minister.
The PDP minister said not even a single minister from the part has made any statement about Asifa case when we are already facing the heat but the BJP which is not on a sticky wicket like us is already acting as if they are in political soup.
"The issue has been made by some parties and leaders in the valley and we were forced to react to it as they are attacking us over the issue. We can understand that BJP too is feeling the heat over the issue but there is difference between their and our position and BJP should understand it," said the PDP minister
