Early Times Report

Kishtwar, Mar 9 : A day after Kishtwar police claimed to have smashed Inter-district drug racket by arresting two local youths from whose possession huge quantity of sedative drugs were recovered, sensational detail of deep rooted nexus between some of the senior police officials and the main kingpin in Kishtwar District have once again surfaced.
The sources told the "Early Times" that the kingpin under well planned conspiracy on regular intervals provide some selective information to the said police official regarding the drug trade in Kishtwar District as a result of which the kingpin since last several months has come close to some senior police officials and won their trust.
The sources said that the police with the help of kingpin and his men had developed a specific information with regard to a group of persons involved in the inter-district sale and purchase of banned sedative drugs and reportedly manage to recover 940 tablets of Topspas. Police arrested two local youths in this regard identified as Shoaib Zargar son of Ali Mohammad Zargar resident of Faridiya Road Kishtwar and Shewat Kumar son of Jai Krishan resident of Zelna Kishtwar.
The sources said that during the preliminary investigation, the name of Kingpin in Kishtwar named as Momin has been surfaced along with a Kashmir based drug paddler with code name Adil who are allegedly supplying the drugs to Kishtwar .
It is pertinent to mention that in November 2017, the murkier deal between the police officials and the kingpin of drug mafia and a Chars smuggler in Kishtwar District lead to the framing of an innocent 19 year old student who happened to be a domestic helper at renowned family at Kishtwar . In a similar case, another poor youth hailing from Sirgwari area was implicated in the case around 150 grams of Charas was 'recovered' from his possession at the time of arrest.
The police sources informed the "Early Times" that the nexus involving police and kingpin works in a well planned and coordinated manner and added that first the suspect target was detained and later more suspect were zeroed in and later an emissary was sent to them, who intimated them about the surfacing of their names and accordingly the target to collect the money was set and the same was collected from them through the said emissary. The sources further revealed that the kingpin under the garb of the deal is finishing his rivals that could help him to rule over the trade in future.
