Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 9: The Skill Development Mission has issued an advertisement urging candidates to showcase their talent at local, regional, national and international levels. The desirous candidates have been asked to register with the mission. The Mission has offered an award of Rs 20000 in each skill, which include Mechanical CAD, Automobile Technology, Bakery , Cooking , Graphic Design etc. The Mission, however, seems unaware of the present trends. The youth carry very costly electronic gadgets which include cell phones, tabs, laptops etc. Twenty-thousand is too less an amount to lure the present day youth. The Mission, however, needs to learn from a local Madrasa in outskirts of Srinagar. It offered Rs 75000 for first prize in a Naa't competition. The second and the third prize winners got Rs 50000 and 25000 respectively. And, then money is not that important. The youth need proper training. It has been observed that the youth of Jammu Kashmir possess sufficient talent. The authorities need to polish the talent and give them proper exposure. The exposure cannot be given by taking the youth to national and international competitions and that too without any training. Further it has to be a sustained effort. |
