Asifa murder case: People hold protest against state govt

SAMBA, Mar 9: The locals of Samba along with various social organizations staged a strong protest demonstration against the state government to press for the demand of holding a CBI inquiry into Asifa murder case.
A large number of people along with the members of Hindu Ekta Manch assembled at Samba Fort and moved towards Jammu-Pathankot National Highway in the shape of a rally.
The protesters reached the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway and blocked it for half an hour by forcefully stopping the vehicular movement on both the tubes.
Raising slogans against the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, the protesting people demanded to hold a CBI inquiry into Asifa murder case.
They alleged that the Crime Branch officers are harassing innocent people of Rassana area adding that few days ago, the people of village Rassana migrated from their villages and took shelter in village Kootah.
Lashing out at Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga and Minister for Forests, Lal Singh for not keeping their promise of ordering a CBI inquiry, the protesters said that the ministers' have failed to maintain their assurances made during their visit to Koota.
While talking with media persons, president of Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha Samba, Inder Singh said why the state government is keeping mum adding that if the government does not go for a thorough probe from the CBI, they will continue their protest.
The member of Hindu Ekta Manch, Kant Kumar Sharma said that the Hindu Ekta Manch will continue its struggle as the Crime Branch is harassing the innocent people.
"The Crime Branch is acting on the directions of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti," alleged Sharma.
