6 held for robbing businessman, looted money recovered

JAMMU, Mar 9: With the arrest of six persons who have allegedly looted a businessman, Police today claimed to have achieved a success. While interacting with media, the SP South Sandeep Chaudhary informed that an FIR No 68/2018 under sections 397 of RPC 3/25, 4/25 Arms Act was registered at Bahu Fort police station on the complaint of Ghulam Rasool Magrey of Nawabad Sunjwan who was allegedly looted few days ago.
Police spokesman said that the modus operandi of the looters was that they used to raid a certain building dressed in police uniforms and commit the crime. Police identified the arrested persons as Jafar Iqbal of Dillar Chatroo, Kishtwar, Tariq Hussain of Shanpura Chingam, Chatroo, Kishtwar, Shanawaz Ahmad of Chingam, Chatroo, Kishtwar, Sajjad Ahmad of Polie, Chilli, Doda, Mohd Yousaf of Berru, Bhala, Doda and Amjed Hussain of Bargi Angnol, Gundoh, Doda.
Police spokesman further said that looted amount of Rs 7.40 lakh has been recovered from their possession.
"One dagger and one sharp edged weapon (toka) also recovered and a Santro car bearing registration number JKO6-2650 and wagon R bearing temporary registration number JMU-BW-2925 also seized in the instant case", said spokesman adding that the investigation was carried out by team led by SDPO East, Arun Jamwal and SHO Trikuta Nagar, Inspector Parvez Sajad under the supervision of SP South, Sandeep Choudhary and SSP Jammu, Dr Vivek Gupta. Further investigation of the case is going on and more arrests and recoveries are likely to be made.
