Sewerage & Drainage Deptt dug up road illegally in Muthi

Jammu, Mar 11: Without taking proper approval from PWD, R&B the Department of Sewerage and Drainage dug up main road in Muthi area, resulting inconvenience to localities whose vehicles were stuck inside the house boundary.
Sources told Early Times that the Department of Sewerage and Drainage two weeks ago dug-up 50 meters stretch on Muthi road, that too without prior permission from the Public Works Department (PWD), adding that the faulty planning of department concerned could be gauged from this fact that few months back, the PWD black topping the entire road by spending huge amount from the public exchequer.
The stretch was dug-up for construction of Sewerage line, that too for few houses. "The department should construct sewerage line for all, but they pick few houses, at the cost of others", they said and added that works going very slow pace. Water supply remained affected in the area as most of the pipes got damaged during digging of the road.
Sources further said that the localities were facing hardships to reach their respective destination and the department fails to make even way for pedestrians.
"The department concerned (Sewerage and Drainage department) haven't taken any permission for the work from concerned Agency i.e. PWD, R&B, we are mulling to register a FIR against the violators that causing huge inconvenience to us", said local and added that over thousands of residents of the area have to option to out their homes.
"We have parked our cars 1.5 to 2 kilometres away on road, at mercy of god", the residents said. The shopkeepers of the area are adverse conditions as entire stretch outside their shops have been dug-up are people are scared to move out. "There is no pavement along the road, as the Malva dug-up from the road has been dumped on both sides of the road", they added.
They said that after a wait over an decade we got this road an year back. "The road was commissioned in June 2016, and the PWD, R&B spent Rs 75lacs for 3.7 killometer stretch", they said.
