Bad road connectivity makes life difficult in Billawar

Billawar, Mar 11: While State government patted its back and claimed to have provided basic amenities and overall development of the state in a rally titled 'BJP ke Teen Saal Bemessal " at Dussherra ground Jammu; One Ramesh Kumar 32, s/o Paras Ram, today succumbed to his disease triggering anguish among villagers who shouted slogan against state Government. Worse condition of 16 Km road from Kough to Bagan via Daliya, Kaletar including under construction bridge on Tedh nallha has reportedly made the lives of people of 15 Panchyats difficult.
Today, people assembled and expressed anguish against state government, demanding better road connectivity and repair of the bridge.
Ganesh Kumar, a protester, highlighted the problems being faced by villagers for last 14 years. He said construction work of road started 14 years ago, has been abandoned for the reason best known to state government. He said people could not reach their destinations and students and the patients were the worst sufferers.
" Many of our children have given up their studies as they find it difficult to walk 16 kms each day to reach school and back" said Rajinder Verma, another local. Verma added that deputation called on ADC Billawar several times who assured to get road constructed, but nothing has been done at ground level and people are crying for road connectivity.
Faqir Chand alleged that there was criminal nexus between officers of the department and the contractors and nobody asked them any questions. When contacted, a Contractor Raman Kumar accepted the damage to the crates and said PWD forcibly manipulated the construction work and suggested to use Crates rather than Concrete for protection wall of the bridge that got damaged and affected the lives of thousands of people of the area.
