| Sahib Bandgi Panth organises spiritual function at Satwari | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 11: Madhu Param Hans Maharaj, the spiritual head of Sahib Bandgi panth, while delivering sermons to his followers at Satwari Chowk, said that the field of worship had lost its purity.
If some goon appears in the neighbourhood, everyone there becomes alert. All think he will prove troublesome. If some wine shop is opened at some place, the people residing nearby begin to oppose. They think it can prove harmful in the time to come.
If a fire breaks out at some place, the people in the neighbourhood feel its warmth. Likewise, if wrong elements penetrate in the field of worship, they will pollute the religious atmosphere & will cause problems for the people.
There are two kinds of worship to be seen. One is the Sagun whereas the other one is the Nirgun. Sagun is not bad. It has its own good points. It is like a nursery class.
Our ancestors simplified the mode of worship for us. The construction of a bridge on the river Chenab has made it easy for the people to cross it. Prior to it, only the swimmers could cross it.
But now everyone can cross it easily. Even the animals & reptiles can cross it. Likewise, the Sagun form of worship is a simplified way of worshipping God.
But after that there remains a strong need for seeking the shelter of a guru.
This mode of worship involves idol worship, visit to holy places, doing acts of charity etc. There is nothing bad in it. To refrain from giving troubles to others or performing acts of cheating & forgery etc. have their own significance in the field of religion.
The Vaishnav devotees perform the worship of Thakur ji. They clean the wood before putting it in the fireplace & don't make the food unclean. There is nothing wrong in it. But I think there is need to move beyond it. This is because these acts alone won't help us to attain salvation. Our ancestors spent a decent life. They never committed sins.They were afraid of wrong acts. They talked of Nirakar but we are talking about what lies beyond. Herein lies the difference in our approach. There is nothing like opposing it. |
