Jammu, Mar 11: Union Power Secretary Balraj Joshi and CMD, NHPC Limited S.Kalgaonkar accompanied by Himanshu Shekhar, General Manager, Salal today visited various components of the Power Station like Dam, Power House, Tail Race Tunnel etc.
At Power House, the visiting dignitaries were apprised with the Operation and Maintenance Activities of the Power Station by Shekhar through Power Point Presentation. General Manager, Salal apprised Union Power Secretary that the achievement of 719 MW could be made possible owing to modernisation of the Power House by way of installation of modified Runners, installation of new digital Governors, Excitation System to enhance the performance of the Power House. Shekhar further informed that installation of SCADA System to improve the operation and control of the Power Station in a more efficient manner is in the pipeline shall be installed shortly.
The visiting Dignitaries were welcomed by General Manager, Salal Power Station and other Senior Officers from NHPC, CISF and Civil Administration at Ramleela Ground, Jyotipuram followed by Guard of Honour by CISF for Union Power Secretary.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Power Secretary appreciated initiatives taken by Salal Team under the leadership of Balraj Joshi, Chairman & Managing Director,NHPC Limited for improving the performance of the Power Station and expressed happiness to visit Salal to witness the historic moments of Highest Ever Generation.
