JU administration dances to tunes of Gen Secy NTEU

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 12: In what could be described as kneeling down before the whims and fancies of a clerical staff member, the University of Jammu (JU) administration is literally dancing to the tunes of the General Secretary of the Non Teaching Employees Union (NTEU) of the Varsity.
Reliable sources informed Early Times that the General Secretary of NTEU, JU, Sham Lal Sharma is not willing to leave the chair, which he was holding at the time when his transfer order was issued by the University administration a few months back.
Sources said that the General Secretary, NTEU, JU is a habitual offender of the orders issued by the University administration as he disobeyed his transfer orders not once but twice.
"A few months back the University administration ordered transfer of Sham Lal Sharma, who was officiating as Head Assistant (HA) at the Centre for Life Long Learning of JU. Sharma was transferred to the Establishment Wing of the Varsity but in utter violation of the order he did not join there and remained glued to the post of HA in the Centre. He is taking undue advantage of being an office bearer of the NTEU, JU," said sources.
"Due to his refusal to take charge as HA in the Establishment Wing, the JU administration was forced to amend the order as the work of the Wing was badly affected following Sharma's open rebellion to fill up the vacant post," added sources.
Sources further said that in the meantime Sham Lal Sharma got promoted as Section Officer around two and a half months back and he was subsequently adjusted in Salary Wing of the Accounts Section but he again refused to comply with the JU administration order and openly displayed his tantrums once more.
"Salary Wing of the Accounts Section is considered to be one of the important sections of the Varsity still Sham Lal Sharma, now promoted as Section Officer, did not join there as well and preferred to officiate on a junior level post of the HA in the Centre for Life Long Learning. He is making a mockery of the University administration orders over and over again but the authorities seem to ignore this gross indiscipline probably fearing Sharma's position in the NTEU, JU," said sources.
