Jammu, Mar 21: PHE Workers Welfare Association (PHEWWA) today staged protest demonstration in the office premises of Chief Engineer PHE Department , in support of their long pending genuine demands.
The workers were demanding their 50 months backlog earned wages, regularization process be started shortly for all sorts of workers at once, conducting of DPC meeting at all levels, the SITU promotion be given to the employees, include D.A in 2 ½ days gratia pay of the employees like PDD and Health Departments one family member of the deceased daily wager be appointed in the department on compassionate grounds, the daily rated workers those who are retiring on 31.01.2018 due to the implementation of SRO-520 be give RS 5.00 lacs special assistance and fame concrete retirement policy such workers the toilets facilities be provided to the field and operational staff at all PHE Stations under "Swachh Bharat Abiyan" etc.
While addressing the protesters, Subash Verma provincial general secretary of the association has said that PHE higher officers are playing with the sentiments of workers. "Our association has requested to the concerned authority to solve those demands which are in its competency but efforts have not be made by them sincerely to solve these demands yet even after months", he said, and urged the present PHE authority to change its sectarian approach towards our employees and stop delaying tactics otherwise our association will never hesitate to take hard steps.
