Jammu, Mar 22: Inhabitants of R S Pura localities are up in arms against the Municipal Committee for failing to clean the drains of Ward Number 12.
Locals of the area said that on one hand, the government of India as well as state government is organised various programme on Swacch Bharat Abhiyan but on the other hand the officials of particular department, engaged for looking after the cleanliness of localities, seems least bothered about swacchatta.
A complainant, resident of W.NO 12 Ravinder Singh Chib said for the last ten months we have repeatedly apprised officials of Municipality Committee, especially Executive officer of the through written representations that the drains from Peer Baba to Saheed Bhagat Singh Chowk , were not cleaned and maintained for a long time.
"The first complaint was filed in his office of Municipal committee, RS Pura in the month of May of 2017 regarding choking of drains and thereafter four other complaints were also filed on 09/08/2017, 12/11/2017, 14/12/2017 and 23/02/2018 respectively but
Another complainant of the locality said that ultimately we have filed the written complain regarding un-hygienic condition nothing moved," said another local. The locals urged the Director Local Bodies and SDM R S Pura to issue appropriate directions to Executive Office of Municipal Committee of said area.
