| HCC workers again go on strike, work suspended | | |  Early Times Report
BANIHAL, Apr 4: The financial implications in Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) forced workers to go on strike again on Jammu Srinagar National Highway.
The agitated workers who were engaged with the company in the construction of fourlane project in Ramban- Banihal sector are without wages from last 4 months. Workers alleged that during last strike, the company management had assured them in written order that the wages of November 2017 will ba paid to workers before March 27, 2018 and the wages of December and January will be paid in the month of April. Workers said that no wages were paid to them till date.
These workers again stopped the work of under construction tunnels, batching plant and at workshop. They said that about five hundred workers including drivers, mechanics, heavy machine operators and other skilled and unskilled workers are without wages from past four months. HCC despite of assurances still failed to release the pending dues of their workers. Workers are shouting slogans against the company management and demanded immediate release of their pending dues. |
