Arbitrarily fees hike by Pvt Schools: Parents hold protest against Govt
4/4/2018 10:35:14 PM
Early Times Report
Kathua, Apr 4: Dozens of parents protested on Wednesday against hike in fees re-admission fees, building fees, annual fees charged by Private schools In Kathua district.
The agitated parents held strong protest in front of CEO office Kathua to drawing attention of D.C Kathua. The protest was held under the banner of Private Schools Parents Association led by its President Karn singh where they raised slogan against D.C Kathua and CEO Kathua.
Parents and member of association alleged that schools are charging fees with compound interest forcing parents to bleed through their nose. But in return neither they are appointing good teachers nor improving the quality of education. Parents alleged private schools are also forcing parents to purchase text books, school uniforms, stationary items from particular book stores named by them.
Parents demanded the state school department and district administration to intervene immediately and instruct all the private schools not to charge exorbitant fees along with other demands. They also demanded a roll back in the re- admission fees which was taken every year on the name building funds school maintenance funds and others which clearly shows mockery with education and school administration runs the business on the name of education and indulged in open loot.
Even the district administration and district education officials are aware of the problems as private schools are violating the right to education but no action has been taken so far.
