2 CRPF jawans killed after their vehicle come under attack from angry mob

Anantnag, Apr 4: Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed after a CRPF vehicle turned turtle due to stone-pelting in Kokernag area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Wednesday.
Reports said that the driver lost control over the vehicle in Hillar area of Kokernag after coming under heavy stone pelting.
Slain soldiers of 164 battalion of CRPF were identified as Riyaz Ahmad Wani and Nissar Ahmad. Riyaz is from Sagam Kokernag while as Nisaar Ahmad is a resident of Verinag Anantnag.
Doctors at Anantnag District Hospital declared slain soldiers as 'brought dead' while as the third injuried CRPF solider was shifted to Army's Srinagar base hospital for further treatment.
Anantnag police said that they have taken the cognizance of the incident and were investigating the cause of accident.
"CRPF vehicle pelted upon at Hiller Kokernag, with the result driver lost control over the vehicle and met with an accident. Two CRPF personnel died on spot and injuries to others. Officers are on spot," Anantnag Police tweeted on micro-blogging website twitter.
CRPF in its official press statement said that the troops of 164 Battalion were out for Law and Order duty and during withdrawal a mob started stone pelting while taking advantage of hilly terrain.
They said that a stone hit the driver of vehicle, who became unconscious and lost the control over the vehicle.
"The Vehicle hit the motorcycle of CRPF personnel who were moving ahead of truck and later turned turtle," CRPF said in its statement.
Two CRPF personnel who were riding on motorcycle died on spot and other troops sustained injuries as the vehicle in which they were travelling turned turtle.
Police has registered a case and started investigation into the incident.
