Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 4: Jammu Scholar Council urged Chancellor and Pro Chancellor of the University to intervene regarding the ongoing agitation of the students in the University of Jammu. A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Parduman Singh President Jammu Scholar Council. Singh said that those who involved in the lathicharge on the students must be immediately removed from the position and a proper inquiry must be conducted in this matter so that justice may prevail in every section of the society. Parduman Singh requested the students' community to restrain from misconduct and misbehaviour with the faculty of the University of Jammu and also appealed to be fair with the University system as well as public property. Mohinder Pal Singh Pandu senior most scholar of the University said that so called agitation is taking an ugly end as the main gate of the University has been broken by the students and security clash first time in the history of University of Jammu. He said that it seems that the so called agitation is preplanned game by some of the disgruntled elements who have a long rivalry with the Prof. R. D. Sharma Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu. Moreover, he also pointed out that some antinational forces operating in Jammu might be behind all the agitation who want to burn the University as same as like the Kashmir situation, as the violent protests are very common now a days in the varsity.
