Tragedy hits devotees: 4 dead, 18 injured in road mishap

Rajouri, Apr 6: ilgrimage turned into disaster for the devotees of lord Shiva when the vehicle they were travelling in fell into a gorge, leaving 4 killed and 18 others critically injured.
4 of 22 injured pilgrims, all from various places in Uttar Pradesh , succumbed to their injuries while remaining 18 after preliminary treatment at various hospitals in Rajouri and Reasi districts were shifted to GMC hospital at Jammu .
The mishap took place when the driver of the Mini Bus, in which they were on way to Shiv Khori caves , lost control over the vehicle and it skidded off the road on a sharp curve and again fell on the road about 60 meter deep.
The mishap took place under the jurisdiction of Dharamshal police station in Rajouri district and police parties from Rajouri and Reasi rushed to the spot and helped the locals who had already reached the spot and were engaged in rescue operation.
The Police said the mishap took place at about 1.30 pm near Kanda village and all the injured were shifted to different nearest health centres at Taryath, Bharak and Pouni.
The deceased have been identified as Gulab Singh s/o Mani Ram, Sheela Devi w/o Ayodhya both r/o Faizabad and Deepak Misra s/o Udesh Singh r/o Ahmdabad while Anod Kumar resident of Faizabad.
"The condition of few among the injured was critical and were under the observation of doctors at GMC hospital Jammu.
The Mini Bus bearing registration No.JK0AC-8710 was carrying about 26 passengers most of them pilgrims.
