BJP shocks PDP, likely to go tough on Kashmir
4/7/2018 12:09:54 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 6: BJP has sent shock to the PDP by clearly hinting that it will not go soft on its Kashmir policy and will like the Modi government to go hard at the terrorists.
BJP president Amit Shah speaking to media in the Mumbai said maximum number of terrorists have been killed by the Kashmir during its rule.
His statement comes just few hours after chief minister Mehbooba Mufti congratulating BJP on its foundation day had tweeted that PM Modi can reach out to the people of Kashmir.
"Now the party has got into the election mode and there is no chance of party making a drastic shift in its stand on Kashmir and it can't let the government follow any sort of soft or appeasement policy so party president's assertion is clear reflection of the policy being followed by the party," said the senior party official.
The sources said the differences are growing among the coalition partners over the handling of the Kashmir issue. The PDP feels that unless Modi government takes extra steps to reach out to the people of the Kashmir and give them a sense that it 's not hostile to them, it will not be possible for it to retrieve the lost political ground.
"BJP on the other hand is under pressure at least on the national level to go more hard at the Kashmir policy as Cong too has started pursuing soft-Hindutava policy. After loss of parliamentary seats in the UP bye-election, the party is getting into hard Hindutava mode and it's bound to make difference grow more further," said a top BJP leader.
The sources said Mehbooba Mufti is growing more isolated and anxious as top leaders from both the parties which were acting as link between the two parties had fallen in their respective parties.
"Ram Madhav has not been made Rajya Sabha members, clearing showing he has fallen in a sense with the BJP top leadership, and Haseeb Drabu already been sacked by Mehbooba, there is no one around who can bridge the differences. It couldn't have gone more bad for the PDP," said the sources.
