Dedhni Mandir to open on April 14

DODA, Apr 10: The Darbar of Durga Mata Mandir Dedhni located at Village Dedhni native village (Hambal) about 35 kms away from District Doda shall open on April 14 for the annual festival. The annual festival in the form of Trishool Bhaint Yatra, is being celebrated since 1982 in the memory of re-installation of ancient idol of Mata Durga after it was recovered from Chenni (Udhampur). The idol was stolen by smugglers from the temple. The Darbar will open this year on April 14 on the eve of Baiksakhi and pilgrims from Doda, Ramban, Udhampur, Kishtwar and many parts of Jammu & Kashmir are expected. The festival is celebrated on the special occasion of Baishakhi every year. The management committee has sought all the facilities for the pilgrims. Security has also been sought. Main yatra from Khellani via Shree & Saras will start from Durga Mandir Chinar Chowk after Trishool Poojan by 07:00 Am.Trishool Yatra from Kihanda (Paryote) Hambal and Seen other parts startling simultaneously. Some of the famous food items to eat during the festival are Rice & Rajmash Chawal at the Lungar of Mata Rani. Local food specialties include Klan (or Klan kulcha and are very tasty.
