| People allege wastage of money in "Solid Waste Management Plant" near LoC | | |

Poonch, May 17: Department of municipal corporation Poonch intends to construct a "Solid Waste Management Plant" in border village Degwar of district Poonch which is very close to the line of control.
Locals of Poonch believe that the venture will be a waste of money as the area selected for the project is very close to the LoC. Locals have demanded early shifting of the project from border area to a safer place. The director municipal council Jammu has admitted that the area was close to LoC. He said it was identified prior to his joining as Director in this department.
There is no solid waste management processing plant coming up immediately, but yet we are dressing the site only for the purpose of dumping the municipal waste, as there is no other dumping site available. This is a necessity, and there is no wastage of money," he said. |
