| SO CID Rajouri seeks bribe for verification | | | Sushil Dutta

Rajouri, May 17: Setting a shameful trend, the CID officials in Rajouri openly demanded bribe from a person who was seeking verification for his passport. Victim Akash Chandan alleged that SO Jangbaaz asked him to give Rs200 as the amount for official documentation for the said verification and accordingly he submitted the amount desired by SO CID office, Rajouri.
The Dy.SP CID Rajouri Pardeep Bumotra took serious note of the allegations saying there was no provision for seeking Rs 200 for official documentation.
He assured an enquiry and strict action against the erring official. Pertinent to mention that considering the downtrodden and poor state of people of this region even government has opened the special passport office at Rajouri but the ghost of corruption is still wandering in many such offices and creating the trouble for the poor fellows. |
