Udhampur, May 17: Students of City High School (Boys) Udhampur were seen sitting on ground under the sun today during an awareness programme on National Dengue Day.
The awareness programme was held under the directions of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Udhampur, Dr KC Dogra. It is pertinent to mention here that there are many summer borne diseases to which the children are particularly very prone to like bleeding nose etc.
A medical expert opined that it is very important to save all, especially, the children from direct sunlight as sunstroke may also infect them.
"If children sit under the direct sunlight then they are very much prone to certain diseases like dehydration which may also risk their lives," he opined.
Sheela Devi, a lady whose son studies in the school said, "If the school belongs to us, as the government claims, then why our children are subjected to such harassme- t."
She said students were forced to sit on ground in scorching heat when some officer came in school for the awareness and other programmees held in School. |
