| SFD Rajouri: Sole suspect in illegal transfers to head probe panel | | |

RAJOURI, May 17: The Social Forestry Department (SFD) Rajouri has appointed an official as head of an enquiry committee to probe illegal transfers and postings who himself is the only suspect in the fraud.
After taking cognizance of Early Times reports on illicit works executed by the department besides illegal transfers and postings done by the DFO, the department formed an enquiry committee to look into the bungling.
But surprisingly, SFD Director Ashwani Gupta has made the incharge DFO Bhagwan Singh Slathyia as head of the probe committee. Singh is the only suspect in the whole episode of illegal works in the department.
Many people of the area expressed their astonishment on the appointment of Singh as the committee head, asking when all the charges of fraud are against him only, how did the department appoint him as the head of the probe panel.
The people of Sunderbani believe that the enquiry committee will remain a joke as no agenda will be set in finding the culprit when the sole accused heads the committee to find the faults in the SFD.
"The department could have approached an external agency to look into the illegal works of the department instead making the only suspect head of the committee," said one of the aggrieved residents of the area.
The people also rue that such arrangement is only made because the hierarchy itself is in hand in glove in the frauds. |
