KATHUA, May 26: The inter Zone district level sports meet of District Kathua in the disciplines of kabaddi, kho kho, volleyball, cricket badminton, table tennis, wrestling, football and tennis ball Cricket concluded here at police lines Kathua. A total of 855 players of different schools of district participated in the sports meet organized by the department of Youth Services and Sports under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rohit Khajuria and supervision of DYSSO Kathua Subash Chander Bhardwaj. On concluding ceremony of tournament the district officer Bhardwaj detailed that in spite of high temperature and heat the moral of players did not reduced although a large number of players came to the venues for their active participation.
On the concluding day the competition for cricket for under 17 years girls were held in which Kathua made 53 runs in the prescribed 10 overs.
Zone Billawar while chasing the target were bowed out in the 7th over and could made only 41 runs. Kathua won the match by 13 runs. |
