NSM organizes awareness lecture cum counseling session

Jammu, May 27: The Higher Secondary School Pouni Chak in its play school organized an awareness lecture cum counseling session.
The theme was "Health Hygiene and Nutrition among the Young Girls". The renowned gynecologist Dr Neelu Sharma was the resource person. Dr Sharma addressed over one hundred senior girl students of class XII of the school.
The lively informative programme was anchored by Dr Sindhu K Sahi, co-ordinator of the Nari Shiksha Manch who welcomed the guests and reiterated the commitment to organize more such programmes and other activities for the benefit of adolescents and welfare of young girls and women. Dr Neelu Sharma impressed upon the necessity of healthy life style and guided the participants on the importance of regular exercises and to avoid junk food.
She also explained the importance of balance nutritious diet. She spoke at length on the personal hygiene of young girls. That was followed by a question/ answer session in which individual problems of students were discussed and further counseling provided.
The programme was attended by various social activists and ladies faculty of the school. Prominent among those who graced the event included Mamata Singh, Coordinator Mahila Samanvye, Jammu, Vijay Laxmi, Archana Loushal, Arun Ambedkar.
