Early Times Report

Jammu, May 27: Despite constitution of Special Investigation Team (SIT) by an administrative order passed by the higher ups to re-investigate rape committed on a minor in 2016, the SSP Kathua who is heading the SIT has miserably to expedite the investigation and collect blood samples to conduct the DNA test of the child born after the sexual assault to the victim. Shockingly, the minor (name withheld) who was raped in 2016 when she was only 11, gave birth to a mentally and visually challenged baby boy who is been taken care of by her old aged father. Relevant to mention herein that the SIT was constituted by an administrative order earlier this month (17th May 2018) after the victim and her father kept on struggling for years together to nab the accused who allegedly (according to victim and her father) played mischief in conducting DNA test to adopt safe escape in 2017.
SSP Kathua, who is heading the SIT for no reasons has delayed collecting the blood samples for re-conducting DNA test on the child born after the rape, alleged father of the victim, which is the only option left to actually ascertain the father of the child. Sources have claimed that the accused is ready to pay rupees twenty lac to hush up the matter.
The father of the victim who belongs to a rustic family is apprehending that the accused may eliminate the victim, their child and his other family members.
The father of the victim who himself is suffering from number of diseases has alleged that the accused is politically connected and the same has helped him in getting clean chit in the alleged rape case after manipulating DNA test in the year 2017.
Pertinent to mention here that earlier the accused moved the court to get a DNA test done on the baby and the result of the test was negative, following which the girl's family alleged it was just an eyewash. "The DNA samples were not sealed after collection," alleged the father of victim, who suspects the samples were replaced with those of someone else.
According to the victim, She was grazing her cattle when she says she was sexually assaulted at knife-point by the accused. Scared of the consequences, the victim didn't say a word about her pain and trauma to anyone in the family. A few months had passed when her parents suspected something was not right with her and took her to the local doctor. They were in for a shock when the doctor confirmed she had been pregnant for seven months.
