Early Times Report

Anantnag, May 27: Youth identified as Masroor Ahmed, of Fatehpora village of Anantnag has apparently joined militant outfit Lashkar e Taiba as his photograph brandishing an assault rifle has gone viral on social media. The picture went viral soon after a weapon snatching incident took place in the area.
However, Early Times couldn't independently verify the authenticity of the photograph.
Police officials at Anantnag also said that they were verifying the authenticity of the photograph.
In the month of Ramadan, a local web portal reported that is the 7th youth to join militant ranks.
In Anantnag, militants on Saturday evening snatched two service rifles from Policemen in Daburna-Ashajipora area of the district.
According to reports, militants attacked the cops who were guarding a political activist advocate Syed Gowher and snatched one AK-47 and Insas rifle from the cops.
Gowher is a political leader and was previously affiliated with Awami National Conference. Police said that Gowher, who is resident of Aasnoor Watoo Kulgam, was on a visit to relatives' home at Dabran Anantnag.
Police have registered an FIR and taken up the investigation.
