A top army official while talking to Early Times said , on the intelligence inputs we were successful in eliminating two militants who were killed in an overnight gunfight at Kralgund area of Handwara thesil. He said that the militants opened fire upon patrolling party of army's 32 RR late last night in the forest area of Qaziabad in Kralgund, adding the fire was retaliated which resulted in an encounter.
The exchange of gunfire continued for some time and the operation was later suspended due to darkness, the army official said.
He said that today morning bodies of two unidentified militants were recovered along with 2 AK- 47 rifles and other war like stores during the search operation in the area.
