Duplicity exposed

Early Times Report
Jammu, May 31: Within hour after J&K Police give clean chit to Major Leetul Gogoi, a section of Kashmir intelligentsia has started a vicious and malicious campaign against the own police which has made huge sacrifices due to turmoil in the State. Importantly it is the same Valley based intelligentsia, which has termed J&K Police charge sheet in Rassna murder and rape case as "Gospel Truth" and tagged all those who are demanding CBI probe into Rassana case as "pro-rapists".
Major Gogoi's incident has exposed duplicity and biased mindset of a section of Valley based intelligentsia which has launched a vicious campaign against J&K Police for not framing Major Gogoi.
Investigation conducted by the J&K police in this incident has established that the girl who was briefly detained with Major Leetul Gogoi at a Srinagar hotel on May 23 is an adult. Since both of them are consenting adults, there is "no legal basis to register an FIR" into the incident as "nothing incriminating" against them has been found yet.
From the day one, a section of Valley based intelligentsia has started media trial to frame the officer in false case. Without verifying the fact, this section has stared floating fake and false stories to influence the police and other investigating agencies.
After police clean chit of the police to Major Gogoi, these groups have started targeting police for working under pressure to save the Major despite the fact that nothing illegal has found against the Army officer.
When people in Jammu had raised question over investigation of J&K Crime Branch in Rassana case, the same groups were in the forefront to defend the police. These groups, at that time, had termed J&K Police has most professional force in the world. Those who raised doubt over investigation of the police and demanded CBI probe were dubbed as "pro-rapists and anti-women". A nationwide campaign was started that those questioning police's investigation as pro-rapists and supporters of those who have committed heinous crime at Rassana.
