BJP leaders talk in different language in Kashmir
Seek extension of ceasefire against terrorists

Early Times Report
Jammu, June 5: Jammu based Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, who swear by nationalism and claim that they support every action of the security forces against the terrorists are talking in a different language in Kashmir.
Recently a senior BJP leader said that his party supports extension of ceasefire against the terrorists operating in the Valley. "We want ceasefire and peace. BJP believes in peace and we want it should prevail in Kashmir," the BJP leader, who till the recent past used to give fiery statements was quoted as having said.
Another BJP leader also supported his view saying, "We want peace to prevail."
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "It's unfortunate that in Jammu they talk in one language and in Kashmir they speak something else."
He said when the all party meeting was held in Srinagar prior to the commencement of the holy month of Ramzan and Kashmir based politicians asked the Government of India to announce a ceasefire senior BJP leaders maintained silence over the issue in Srinagar. "On the very next day the BJP spokesperson addressed a news conference in Jammu and opposed the move," the analyst said. "In Srinagar they had no problem with ceasefire but in Jammu they pretended as if they are not a part of the demand raised by J&K government."
He said that BJP leaders seem to have compromised with their ideology for the sake of power and don't want to annoy the Kashmir centric leaders. "By demanding that ceasefire should be extended they are demoralizing the security forces. We have seen that since the day ceasefire has been announced in the Valley terrorists have got emboldened and they are carrying out attacks frequently. On Monday only, 25 persons were wounded in grenade attacks," the analyst added.
He said that if the GoI extends the ceasefire it can turn the Amarnath pilgrims into sitting ducks and it can prove to be a big compromise on their security. "BJP leaders by supporting extension of the ceasefire against the terrorists are playing into the hands of separatists and their bosses sitting across the Line of Control," the analyst added.
A politician said that when BJP was in the opposition it used to claim that it would end terrorists and terrorism once it comes into power. "After coming into power it has surrendered before the terrorists and the terrorism. Today they are talking about holding a dialogue with the separatists and the gun wielding terrorists who are advocating Pakistan's cause and are preaching sedition," he said. "The only aim of the BJP leaders seems power and nothing more. This won't take them anywhere."
