Poonch, June 7: Soil conversation department has failed to come up to the expectations of people as it failed to preserve the water by constructing check dams, water ponds to meet the water crises in the district sources said here today.
As reported earlier that all sub divisions of Poonch have been reeling under acute water crisis for the last quite some time and had been there measures taken to preserve the water from natural resources by the soil conservative department by constructing water ponds and check dams etc the problem could have been contained to a large extent source said .
They said crores of rupees have been spent on several works to preserve the water which was confined to papers only while nothing was visible on the ground. The department has utterly failed in discharging its duties and we think it is a dysfunctional organization in entire district of Poonch alleged the locals while talking to Early Times.
Meanwhile social activist Mushtaq Ahmed in an appeal urged the higher ups to take strong note of the department which has failed to preserve the water from natural resources. An inquiry should be initiated against it as how come its functioning has come to a grinding halt Mushtaq asked. |
