Panun Kashmir backs demand for CBI probe in Rassana case; says Kashmir situation not normal
6/7/2018 11:03:38 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, June 7: The current political situation in Kashmir is far from normal and the ceasefire violations by Pakistani rangers as well intrusion attempts by Pak-backed terrorists have caused a great damage to the socio-security scenario of the state, Panun Kashmir, an organisation advocating the cause of displaced Kashmiri Hindus, said today.
The organisation also backed the demand for a CBI probe into the Kathua rape and murder case calling it totally justified.
"The current political situation in Jammu and Kashmir state is far from a normal situation", Panun Kashmir president Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo told reporters here today.
Chrungoo said though there was pressure on the terror regime as well as the ISI from Indian side yet Pakistan was hell-bent upon playing dirty tricks.
"The ceasefire violations by Pak Rangers and the intrusion bids by the Pak-trained terror groups have caused a great damage to the socio-security scenario of the Jammu and Kashmir state," he said.
The Panun Kashmir chief said there was a strong politico-strategic view to reconsider the options available with India so far as the response to the ongoing situation created by Pakistan and terror operatives was concerned.
"There cannot be two opinions about the need to aggressively respond to Pakistan's military misadventures as was done recently by the Indian forces leaving destruction of military assets and scores dead on the other side of the international border", he said.
Chrungoo was speaking after a Panun Kashmir meeting here today to discuss the current socio-political scenario of the state.
He said the three decades of struggle in exile of Kashmiri Pandits had assumed a great responsibility so far as the fate and future of the community and the nation was concerned.
Panun Kashmir batted strongly for the demands of Dogras of Jammu and said that the three points raised by the people and lawyer community of Jammu are genuine and represent the geo-political aspirations of the Jammu region.
"The demand for an impartial CBI probe in the Rassan rape and murder case is not only justified but it is the only course left keeping in view the severity of the case and the composition and working of crime branch teams," he said.
Chrungoo said the steps taken by the government of India with regard to the issue of continuous stay of Rohingya and Bangladeshi illegal immigrants in the Jammu region were in the right direction but needed urgent follow up.
