Jammu, June 20: 2 J&K Girl BN NCC of GDC, R.S. Pura developed compost pits as the part of Swachhta Summer internship today on 20th June, 2018 under the guidance of Principal of the College Prof. Kalpana Kesar and supervision of Prof. Shaveta Chowdhary, Nodal Officer NCC, SBSI as the part of Swachhta Summer internship. The NCC Cadets developed compost pits in the village Baga Marh which has been adopted by the Girls NCC wing of the college. The cadets dug pits and then added the waste collected by them from the village like dry leaves, vegetable peels, fruits scrap, garden weed, flowers, wood chips etc. to form compost pits for solid waste management. In addition to this, the cadets performed Nukkad Natak in the village highlighting issues related to water and food born diseases like dengue, Diarrhea etc. with the active participation of the general public. |
