Shopkeeper 'influences police, manages reposting of SHO'
6/20/2018 11:17:08 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 20: It seems that a shopkeeper is more powerful than higher ups in police department as he allegedly influenced the internal affairs of police department and managed reposting of a Station House Officer (SHO) in the jurisdiction where he runs his shop. The SHO earlier served the same police station after being transferred to another range. The Inspector who served as SHO in one of the police stations in Jammu district was transferred to another range and was also posted as SHO in one of the districts managed his transfer in the range of his choice and was again posted as SHO of the same police station from where he was earlier transferred following complaints of being part of nexus of land grabbers. If sources are to be believed, the said SHO has very congenial relations with a shopkeeper who runs a shop in the jurisdiction of same police station. "The said shopkeeper struck a deal with higher ups and managed the SHO's transfer back in Jammu-Kathua-Samba (JKS) range", said sources, adding that soon after getting the choicest range, the SHO again requested the shopkeeper for his reposting in the same police station, and in return the SHO promised the shopkeeper that he will bring profit for him through disputed land cases. The shopkeeper has invested in real estate and has accumulated huge property by settling disputed land cases through police officers.
Sources further claimed that the SHO in question during his previous posting in the same police station remained in lime light for his involvement in some disputed land cases.
