SKUAST-Jammu signs MoU with PCRA

Jammu, June 20: Achieving another milestone, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India in the presence of Prof. Pradeep K. Sharma, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu.
The MoU was signed by Dr. R.K. Arora, Associate Director Extension & I/c KVKs on behalf of SKUAST-Jammu and Naveen Gulati, Director (NR) on behalf of PCRA for creating awareness among Farmer Community regarding petroleum conservation. The Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) under the administrative control of SKUAST-Jammu will be involved in creating awareness among the farming community for efficient use of petroleum products in agriculture sector, with an aim to reduce the cost of cultivation on one side and environment protection on the other. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Pradeep K. Sharma briefed about the importance of advocating practices which can led to sustainable agriculture in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. He expressed his belief that such joint efforts shall result in saving of diesel & money for the farmer community and also contribute towards educating them on adoption of newer fuel efficient equipments/products being introduced in the market.
