| Bovine smuggler detained under PSA, charas recovered from drug peddler | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, June 29: Under its commitments to act tough against un-lawful activities by the notorious elements including drug peddlers and bovine smugglers, Rajouri police have detained a bovine smuggler under Public Safety Act (PSA) and also apprehended a drug peddler along with consignment of Charas .
As per press statement issued here, the bovine smuggler booked under Public Safety Act allegedly for his continuous involvement in the crime and threat to social and public order has been identified as Shakeel Ahmed son of Gulzar Ahmed resident of Mawa Patrara in Sunderbani tehsil.
Sharing details, Yougal Manhas, SSP said that the accused was earlier booked in four cases after 2013 which includes case No.43/2013, 31/2016, 94/2018 & 68/2018 under sections 188 RPC and 3 PC Act at Sunderbani and Nowshera police stations respectively.
Police said the detention order was issued by Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhry, district magistrate (DM) on the dossier submitted by the SSP and Sunderbani police team headed by Ajeet Singh under the supervision of Tilak Raj, SHO executed the warrants. "District police is bound to its commitments to keep the society peaceful by checking anti-lawful activities of notorious elements and the co-operation of the society members "said SSP.
Meanwhile, Nowshera police team headed by Romel Singh, SHO has apprehended a drug peddler and recovered about 30 grams of Charas from his possession. Police said during frisking on Jammu-Poonch highway a motorcycle rider was stopped for frisking near Garan Morh. During frisking police recovered the consignment of the Charas from his possession wrapped in two Challis (Maize).
He has been identified as Satish Kumar son of Narsi Lal resident of Jawahar Nagar (Rajouri town) was arrested on the spot along with bike bearing registration No. JK02-3906 and was booked in case No 114/2018 under sections 8/20 NDPS Act. |
