2 juveniles arrested for anti-India protest in Kishtwar

Kishtwar, June 29: Two juveniles were arrested in Kishtwar on Thursday night for participating in anti-India protests during Eid procession at Kishtwar on June 16.
As per details available with Early Times, after registration of two FIRs at police station Kishtwar in connection with the Eid procession, Kishtwar police started identifying the persons involved in raising anti-national and pro-Pakistan slogans and started manhunt to nab the accused.
Accordingly, two youths were arrested from Kishtwar town for their alleged involvement in the protests. They were later found to be juveniles. Following the arrest of the duo, Kishtwar police produced both of them in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Kishtwar who directed the police to shift both the juveniles to Juvenile Home at R S Pura within a week. Both the juveniles were shifted to R S Pura on Friday.
In the meantime the counsel of both the juveniles have moved bail application in the court.
It is pertinent to mention in two separate FIRs, Kishtwar police named nine persons as accused in the anti-national procession on Eid-ul-Fitr.
In first FIR (165/2018) eight youths were named for raising anti-India, pro-freedom, pro-militants, pro-Pakistan slogans during the Eid procession on 16-6-2018. The FIR was registered at the instance of police personnel on duty and the Dakat forwarded by the I/C Police Post Hidyal. The inquiry of the case has been entrusted to Dy. SP HQ Kishtwar. In another FIR (No. 166/2018) registered with the approval of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar under Section 196 Cr.PC vide No. 753-55/5-11/PSK, dated 16-6-2016, it has been stated that while offering Eid nimaz at Chowgan ground Kishtwar, a separatist leader instigating the youths by his inflammatory speech as thousands of people had gathered for Eid nimaz. The leader also gave provocative speech against the security forces. It is further stated that the Hurriyat leader tried to spread enmity among the people towards the government of Jammu and Kashmir and union of India, and has created psychosis and insecurity in the minds of general public, Hindu community and other peace loving people of Kishtwar town.
"By doing so he not only tried to spread hatred among the people towards government but also promoted enmity and disharmony among various communities and thus has committed an offences under section U/S 153-A and 124 A RPC," the FIR reads.
